Two individuals operating the betting scheme were caught and fined £20 each, while several customers found in possession of betting slips were also fined. The licensee, Terence Cox, had been at the Black Horse for only five weeks and may have known little about what was taking place. Nevertheless, he was found guilty of permitting betting on the premises and was fined £15.

Monday night is Music Club Night at The Black Horse.
Musicians have been sharing their enjoyment of music since 1976, making it the longest running music club night in Leicester. Come along between 8.30pm and midnight for a jam or just to listen to some great local talent.
We can't guarantee it but if you ask nicely, Mike Sole might give you a ride home by steam engine. Mike is a regular patron and performer at The Black Horse and from time to time turns up on a steam engine.
